Hi, I’m Amber, an MCAT Coach here at Apply Yourself Global!

I’m currently a Pediatrics Resident at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and the University of Ottawa. Before beginning residency, I completed my Doctor of Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Prior to medical school, I completed both an Honours Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of Windsor.

Having gone through the MCAT and medical school application process myself, I understand how overwhelming it can feel to balance a large volume of content while also learning how to approach the exam strategically. I believe that success on the MCAT goes beyond memorizing facts, it requires understanding core concepts, developing strong critical-thinking skills, and learning how to apply your knowledge to unfamiliar questions.

Teaching and mentorship have been an important part of my academic journey. I have worked as a university teaching assistant, provided one-on-one mentorship to students, and supported aspiring medical students through the admissions process. These experiences have taught me that every student learns differently and that challenging concepts become much more manageable when they are broken down into clear, approachable steps.

As an MCAT Coach, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you develop a study approach that works for you. Whether you need help strengthening your content knowledge, working through practice questions, improving your test-taking strategies, or staying motivated throughout your preparation, I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I look forward to helping you work toward your MCAT goals and take the next step on your journey to medicine.
