My name is Melody, an LSAT Coach with Apply Yourself Global!
I am currently a J.D. Candidate at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia, expecting to graduate in 2027. Prior to law school, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, with a minor in Philosophy, at the University of British Columbia.
For me, the LSAT became an important turning point in my academic journey. While studying microbiology and immunology, I took an elective course in the philosophy of law and realized that I was deeply interested in legal reasoning, practical rules, and the way law shapes real-world decisions. That experience helped me picture a future in the legal field and motivated me to begin preparing for the LSAT.
As someone who was once brand new to the LSAT, I know how important it is to approach the test strategically. Through focused studying, critical review, and consistent practice, I improved from not knowing where to begin to achieving a 166, and later a 172, on my second attempt. That process taught me that the LSAT is not a measure of how smart you are. It is a skill-based test, and with the right strategies, structure, and support, it can be improved.
My approach as a coach is to help students better understand both themselves and the LSAT, so we can find the study methods that work best for them. Beyond test-taking strategies, I also understand the emotional toll the LSAT can take on your confidence and well-being. Whether you are just starting out, feeling stuck, or trying to reach that next score goal, I’m here to help you build the skills, confidence, and strategy you need. I look forward to working with you!
