Hi, my name is Owen Sypher, and I’m an MCAT Coach at Apply Yourself.

I recently completed my Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University with a specialization in cardiorespiratory sciences. After achieving a highly competitive MCAT score, I’m excited to help other students navigate the challenges of this exam with confidence.

As an MCAT coach with a strong background in the life sciences, I combine educational learning strategies with practical test-taking techniques and tricks to help students approach the exam with confidence. Through my experience as a teaching assistant and my role as Chair of the Canadian Undergraduate Conference on Healthcare at Queen’s, I have developed a passion for teaching, mentoring, as well as honing my skills in communicating information and pushing students to meet their goals. Having prepared for and successfully written the MCAT myself, I understand the structure,  demands, and intricacies of the exam and the strategies that can make a meaningful difference on test day.

I believe every student learns differently, and my goal is to tailor our sessions to your individual strengths, learning style, and areas for improvement. Whether you're building a study plan from the ground up, working through difficult content, or refining your test-taking strategy, I am committed to providing the mentorship, encouragement, and practical tools you need to maximize your score and move one step closer to your goal of medical school.
