Hi! I’m Sam, an LSAT Coach with Apply Yourself Global!

I myself will be beginning my first year at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law this upcoming fall, though my journey to get here wasn't straightforward or easy. I come from a background in academia, having majored in cognitive science in my undergraduate at Yale University and then pursuing graduate coursework in social psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. When I realized that my academic pursuits weren't affording me the opportunity to make the tangible difference in people's lives that I had wanted, I decided to take my interest in human behavior and focus it where it could make the most impact - law. 

When I decided to make this pivot, I had a rude awakening coming up against the LSAT. It was unlike any test I had taken before, and my first attempt was not something that I could feel proud of or that would help me attend the programs I was pursuing. After refocusing my efforts, learning the particulars of the test, and improving my strategies based on what worked or didn't work for me, I was able to break through the wall and take one step closer to achieving my goals. 

As a coach at AYG, I want to help you feel that same sense of accomplishment. Each and every person is different, and learning how to perform best on the LSAT is about knowing yourself and equipping yourself with the right tools to tackle this daunting test. With plenty of experience teaching at a variety of levels, a psychology background that affords me lots of tips and tricks on best study practices, and a scientifically-minded approach to coaching, I want to help you figure out what you need to succeed and work with you to feel fully prepared on exam day.
